Couple Welcomes Three Sets Of Twins In Just A Few Years—But That’s Not The Most Surprising Aspect!
Note: This story was originally reported in April 2017.
The Kosinski family from Wisconsin has an incredible story to share. They are in the process of adopting two sets of twins and recently celebrated the arrival of twins of their own. The remarkable aspect? All the twins share the same birth date, February 28, but were born in different years.
Carrie and Craig Kosinski, who live on a farm in Union Grove, always envisioned adoption as part of their family. This desire was particularly meaningful for Carrie, who was adopted herself. Initially, they hoped to have biological children before adopting, but their plans changed when they received unexpected medical news.
At the age of 28, Carrie was diagnosed with endometriosis and other health issues that complicated natural conception. This led them to prioritize their adoption journey.
Growing up in a large family of nine, Carrie felt a strong desire for a big family filled with love and support. Their unique journey began when a former high school acquaintance reached out in July 2013, asking if the Kosinskis would consider adopting her twins, due to be born on February 28, 2014. Remarkably, this birth mother already had another set of twins born on the same date a year earlier.
The couple agreed and officially became the legal guardians of the twins, Kenna and Adalynn, just three months later, expanding their family by two.
A year after taking in Kenna and Adalynn, the birth mother contacted the Kosinskis again, facing financial difficulties. She asked if they could also take in the older twins, JJ and CeCe, who were now four years old. Without hesitation, the Kosinskis welcomed these two into their loving home.
The adoption of both sets of twins came with significant costs. Thankfully, they received a $4,000 grant from the One Chance Foundation, established by bestselling author Karen Kingsbury. Although Kingsbury had not met the Kosinskis, their story deeply resonated with her foundation.
Kingsbury expressed their heartfelt reaction: “The idea of these siblings growing up together really touched us. We were moved to tears.”
The family’s growth didn’t stop there. Thanks to IVF treatments, they received surprising news: they were expecting twins of their own. These biological twins, Clarissa and Karraline, were born prematurely on February 28.
Carrie referred to their biological twins as “little miracle babies,” considering the challenges they faced at birth. Now a family of eight, the Kosinskis lead a lively life on their Wisconsin farm. As Carrie humorously pointed out, “There’s never a dull moment in our house.” Their journey showcases the power of love, resilience, and the unbreakable bonds of family.
