Starbucks Employee Breaks Down After Long 8-Hour Shift

Life can be tough, and we often strive to manage whatever challenges arise, particularly in our careers. Satisfaction with our work situations can vary greatly.

Some people have a deep passion for their jobs, while others may feel quite the opposite. There are also those who experience a mix of both—finding joy in their tasks on some days but feeling frustrated on others.

When we feel discontent, we typically share our thoughts with friends and family. Sometimes, we might vent to colleagues or even our boss. However, one Starbucks employee chose a different route: he recorded a video expressing his feelings while taking a break in the stock room, and it quickly gained traction online.

This worker was frustrated by his 25-hour workweek, which included two eight-hour shifts on the weekends.

Long hours can be especially tough for someone who is also juggling full-time studies. Yet, there are times when it’s best to keep our heads down and persevere.

In his video, he struggled to hold back tears while reflecting on his experience at Starbucks, contemplating leaving his position and potentially joining a union.

Responses to his post were mixed. Some viewers showed little empathy, suggesting he should toughen up, while others echoed his frustrations, acknowledging that he had every right to feel upset with both Starbucks and his manager. Although working eight-hour shifts is common, balancing that with full-time studies can indeed be overwhelming.
