After Adopting A Baby Boy, A Woman’s Life Changes When He Takes A Blood Test 27 Years Later

Ingeborg McIntosh, who has cared for over 120 foster children throughout her life, was facing a serious health issue due to polycystic kidney disease. Her son, Jordan, decided to step in and became her living kidney donor.

Last summer, Ingeborg realized that she would soon need a kidney transplant. Without any prompting, Jordan volunteered to get tested to see if he was a suitable match. On Mother’s Day, he joyfully informed Ingeborg that he was a perfect match and would be donating a kidney to her.

Jordan expressed his gratitude and affection, saying, “I feel like this was my calling in life. I hope to do more for her as I grow older, but for now, this is the least I could do.” His words reflected his deep appreciation for the love and care Ingeborg had shown him since he was a child.

Ingeborg reminisced about the first time she held Jordan, describing it as “love at first sight.” Despite initial challenges, including a preference for placing him in a home of a different background, Ingeborg embraced him completely, and they finalized the adoption when he was just four years old.

Their emotional journey reached a powerful moment when Jordan, now an adult, insisted on being the kidney donor for his mother. Ingeborg, filled with gratitude, responded, “I couldn’t ask for a better son. You welcomed me into your life, and now I want to do this for you,” highlighting the deep connection they share.

The surgery went smoothly last month, offering hope and inspiration to others facing similar medical challenges. Jordan believes that acts of kindness, whether immediate or delayed, can create significant change.

The McIntosh family has established the McIntosh Benefit Donation Fund at Wells Fargo to help with medical expenses, demonstrating the strength of community support and the importance of giving back. This uplifting story serves as a testament to the power of love, compassion, and generosity in overcoming life’s obstacles.
