Richard Goodall Is Crowned The Winner Of America’s Got Talent 2024, Receiving A Record Number Of Votes And A $1 Million Prize
Richard Goodall captivated judges and audiences alike in recent months, earning their votes with powerful performances of songs like Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” and Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”
His journey began several months ago when it was announced that the janitor from West Vigo Middle School would be a contestant on America’s Got Talent (AGT). This opportunity arose after a TikTok video of him singing to students went viral.
“One of the kindergarten teachers mentioned that the video had reached 100,000 views. I asked if that was good, and she said she didn’t even have 1,000 followers. By the end of the weekend, it had hit a million!” Goodall shared.
What he couldn’t reveal at that time was that AGT judge Heidi Klum had given him the golden buzzer, propelling him directly into the quarter-finals.
After advancing from the quarter-finals, Goodall returned to his school to a hero’s welcome, where he delivered an uplifting message to students and staff.
“You can achieve anything at any age, regardless of your appearance or background. If you keep pushing forward and refining your skills, someone will eventually take notice,” he encouraged.
He continued his journey to the semi-finals and then the finale, where the judges adored him.
“He truly is a hero. He represents every underdog out there,” remarked AGT judge Simon Cowell. “He touches my heart and I know he resonates with everyone watching at home.”
Despite his newfound fame, Goodall remains grounded. “I’m going to stay humble, no matter what,” he stated.
