Trump Supporter Gives Cashier $20 Bill Featuring ‘Controversial’ Message, Leading To Police Involvement
A Facebook post gained widespread attention after David J. Hill shared his experience at a Texas restaurant.
Hill and his friends visited a local eatery to enjoy a meal and conversation. However, their visit took an unexpected turn when it was time to pay the bill.
In his Facebook post, Hill described the incident: “I didn’t realize that the $20 bill I had was marked with ‘Trump Lives Here’ on The White House in permanent marker. When I tried to pay, the cashier told me he couldn’t accept the money because it was defaced. I was stunned and asked if there was another way to pay, like with a credit card. The cashier insisted that I needed to use an ATM to get valid currency.”
Hill explained that he didn’t have any other form of payment at the moment. The cashier then told him to go to an ATM.
Shortly after, the police arrived to address the situation, but the cashier remained firm.
“This man is trying to use defaced currency, which is not acceptable,” the cashier stated.
After reviewing the situation, the officers reportedly told the cashier that there was no reason not to accept the $20 bill.
“There are countless bills with writing on them, and this one is still valid. Please take the money and give the customer his change,” one officer advised.
Despite this, the cashier allegedly refused to accept the bill, expressing his personal disdain for Trump and stating he didn’t recognize him as his president.
The police then informed the cashier, “Either accept the money and provide the customer with his change, or the meal is on the house today since he’s trying to pay for it.”
Ultimately, it is said that the cashier chose to offer Hill and his friends a free meal.
