Gary Sinise Shares The Tragic News Of His Son Mac’s Passing At Age 33. Details Are Available In The Comments
Gary Sinise, known for his role in Forrest Gump, recently shared the devastating news of his son’s death on the Gary Sinise Foundation’s website and his Instagram account. His 33-year-old son, McCanna Anthony “Mac” Sinise, succumbed to cancer after a long battle.
Mac was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Chordoma on August 8, 2018, just three months after his mother received a stage three breast cancer diagnosis. Despite successful treatment for his mother, Mac’s condition deteriorated over time, eventually impacting his mobility.
Gary Sinise expressed profound sorrow over his son’s passing. He described the experience as incredibly difficult and shared his empathy with others who have faced similar losses. “Losing a child is an unimaginable pain. My heart goes out to everyone who has experienced such grief, and to those who have lost loved ones. It’s an incredibly tough journey, one that I have seen in the families of fallen heroes I’ve met over the years,” he wrote.
He reflected on the family’s five-and-a-half-year struggle with cancer, noting the increasing challenges they faced. Despite the pain of his loss, Gary finds solace in knowing that Mac is no longer suffering and is inspired by his resilience. “Mac fought valiantly against a cancer with no cure, never giving up despite the relentless battle.”
Many celebrities have expressed their condolences and support for Gary and his family on Instagram. Angie Harmon shared a heartfelt message: “We are deeply sorry for your loss, Gary. You and your family are so loved by many. We’re all keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Much love.”
