Country singer Lauren Alaina has canceled her upcoming performances to grieve the loss of her father.
The “Road Less Traveled” artist shared the news on social media, expressing her difficulty finding the right words. On Wednesday, she informed her followers that her father had passed away.
In her Instagram post, Alaina stated, “We lost my dad last night, and I’m at a loss for words right now.”
She continued, “I need to be with my family, so I will be unable to perform at the three shows I had scheduled this weekend in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte.”
Alaina concluded by expressing her gratitude to fans for their “prayers and understanding.”
Following the announcement, several country music stars expressed their condolences. Jake Owen wrote, “I’m deeply sorry for your loss, Lauren. Sending love and strength from my family to yours.”
MacKenzie Porter added, “I’m so sorry, sweetheart. We’ll keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.”
Martina McBride also offered her support, saying, “Sending you so much love.”
The cause of her father’s death has not been publicly disclosed. Before this tragic news, Alaina was touring with Jason Aldean.
In a touching tribute posted on Instagram for Father’s Day a few weeks prior, Alaina celebrated her father, describing him as having “a heart the size of Texas” and sharing her love for him.
Her post included endearing photos from her wedding day, where her father was visibly emotional upon seeing her in her wedding dress. Lauren married Cam Arnold on February 4 of this year.
