A UPS driver in Franklin County, Missouri, has been commended by local authorities for rescuing a woman who had been allegedly abused by her husband and confined to their home for 15 hours.

According to court records reviewed by KMOV, the abuse began in their residence near Robertsville. The husband reportedly assaulted her, subjected her to sexual abuse, threatened her with a gun, and, when she tried to escape, forcibly dragged her back into the house by her hair.

Court documents reveal that he confiscated her phone and locked both her and their 3-year-old child in a room without food or water.

When the UPS driver arrived to collect a package the following morning, he noticed a “contact 911” message written on the box. After delivering the package, he called the police.

Police responded swiftly, rescued the woman and child, and took the husband into custody. Thankfully, the child was unharmed.

“He made a significant impact,” remarked Sergeant T.J. Wild of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department to KMOV.

The husband’s name is being withheld to protect the woman’s identity. He faces charges including domestic assault, sodomy, felonious restraint, unlawful use of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.

A $100,000 cash bond was established for his release.
