JD Vance Is Receiving Criticism For Being Labeled A ‘Hypocrite’ Following The Emergence Of Drag Photos From His College Days

JD Vance Remains Quiet, While George Santos Responds

Ohio Senator JD Vance (R) has chosen not to comment on recently surfaced photos of him in drag from his college years. Conversely, former Representative George Santos has been vocal about the situation.

Viral Image Creates Buzz

A photo featuring Vance, dressed in a blonde wig and a long gown, went viral over the weekend. The image has attracted considerable attention as it appears to clash with the Republican Party’s typical stance on drag and LGBTQ+ issues.

Social Media Response

The image, shared on X by Matt Bernstein with the caption, “I’ve acquired a photo of JD Vance in drag from his time at Yale Law School,” quickly generated a lot of discussion. Travis Whitfill, who provided the photo, confirmed its authenticity, noting, “This was taken in 2012… A classmate sent it to me.”

Mixed Public Reactions

Responses to the photo have varied. One person commented, “Here’s JD Vance in drag during his Yale Law days. The aim isn’t to shame drag performers but to highlight the hypocrisy of those who criticize drag while having engaged in it themselves.” Another joked, “Looking cute. Might consider running for Vice President.” A third said, “It’s not about calling JD Vance weird for wearing drag; it’s about pointing out the hypocrisy and bigotry in his stance against it.”

Santos Supports Vance

Not all reactions have been negative. Republican Representative George Santos from New York defended Vance, suggesting that the photos were simply a playful costume from a college party rather than true drag. He told TMZ, “Labeling this as drag is misleading. Many people, including couples, often play around with gender-bending outfits. It’s not the same as drag.”
