Beloved American Judge Shares Major Health Update After Emotional Disclosure Of Pancreatic Cancer Fight
Judge Frank Caprio, affectionately known as the ‘Nicest Judge in the World,’ has recently shared a positive update regarding his health amid his battle with pancreatic cancer.
Caprio, who gained popularity through the courtroom reality TV show Caught in Providence, is admired for his empathy towards defendants. He has announced the completion of his cancer treatment.
The 87-year-old celebrated this milestone by ringing the bell at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute, marking the end of his treatment journey.
“I rang the bell and am looking forward to happier days,” Caprio posted on social media. “My treatment is complete, and I’m moving forward.”
Caprio, a beloved figure for his compassionate approach to justice on his show, had previously shared his diagnosis with his followers in a TikTok video that quickly garnered 2.5 million views within hours. In the video, he revealed his diagnosis after experiencing discomfort post-birthday celebrations.
“People often ask what they can do for me. While I am grateful for your support and kind messages, I ask that you please keep me in your prayers,” Caprio said, expressing his gratitude and need for prayer as a source of strength alongside medical treatment.
Throughout his career, Caprio served as the chief judge of the Municipal Court of Rhode Island and the chairman of the Rhode Island Board of Governors and Education. He retired from the bench in January 2023.
Caprio’s show, which aired on the Law & Crime Network, was known for his leniency and wisdom. He often dismissed parking tickets and offered advice to those who appeared before him.
One memorable moment from 2018 involved Caprio dismissing a parking ticket for a struggling mother after hearing her son’s heartfelt plea. Another touching instance occurred in 2017 when Caprio showed compassion to a grieving mother, waiving her fines after learning about her tragic loss.
In a recent post, Caprio shared photos of his treatment and expressed his gratitude for his medical team and the support he received.
One of Caprio’s former beneficiaries, Spencer Gregory, who had a traffic ticket dismissed by the judge, expressed his sorrow upon hearing the news. Gregory appreciated Caprio’s genuine care and kindness, noting that it had a lasting impact on him.
