Rick Harrison Is Grieving
Rick Harrison, known for his role as the creator and lead cast member of the hit reality TV show “Pawn Stars,” is mourning the death of his son, Adam Harrison. Adam, who was 39 years old, tragically died from a drug overdose. The news was confirmed by Laura Herlovich, Rick’s spokesperson, to The Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Recent updates from the Clark County Coroner have classified Adam’s death as an accidental overdose caused by a combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine. A detailed report from the Coroner is expected to be released later. This incident highlights the growing issue of fentanyl-related deaths in the U.S. According to CDC data, in 2022, there were 73,654 fatalities from fentanyl overdoses, more than double the number reported in 2019. While Adam was not a regular on “Pawn Stars,” the show that has been popular since 2009, he did contribute to the family-owned Gold & Silver Pawn shop, the show’s central location. Laura Herlovich has asked for privacy for the Harrison family during this difficult time. Rick Harrison honored his son on Instagram with a touching photo and the message, “You will always be in my heart! I love you Adam.”
Corey Harrison, Rick’s eldest son, also shared a tribute on social media, posting a nostalgic photo of himself and Adam from their childhood and writing, “I will always love you bubba.” TMZ initially reported the tragic news of Adam’s passing, and the Las Vegas Metro Police Department is investigating the circumstances of his death. Rick Harrison confirmed that fentanyl was indeed the cause of Adam’s death and has called for more effective measures to combat the fentanyl crisis, expressing frustration over the ongoing flow of the drug. He stressed the importance of a unified response to this issue to prevent further tragedies. The Drug Enforcement Agency notes that just 2 milligrams of fentanyl, which is less than a grain of salt, can be fatal. As Rick Harrison and his family grieve Adam’s loss, their experience underscores the severe impact of the fentanyl crisis.
