A Remarkable Woman Celebrates The Arrival Of Her 100th Great-Grandchild
Marguerite Koller, a 99-year-old resident of Pennsylvania, has recently celebrated a touching milestone by meeting her 100th great-grandchild. For many, the idea of having such an extensive family, particularly with so many great-grandchildren, is hard to fathom. Marguerite’s life is a testament to the joy of a large and caring family.
Marguerite “Peg” Koller Meets Her 100th Great-Grandchild
Known affectionately as Peg, Marguerite has spent her entire life in Pennsylvania. Although she once thought about becoming a nun, she ultimately chose to build a big family instead. In 1942, she married William Koller, who went on to establish a funeral home in Philadelphia. Together, they raised 11 children.
A Lifelong Dream Fulfilled
Marguerite always envisioned a large family, and her dream came true with 11 children. Her family has grown to include 56 grandchildren, and recently, she welcomed her 99th and 100th great-grandchildren. Even after her husband’s passing in 2008, Marguerite remains deeply involved in her family’s life, attributing her longevity to daily exercise and the unwavering support of her loved ones. With her 100th birthday approaching, the arrival of her 100th great-grandchild is a meaningful symbol of her richly lived life.
Celebrating the Newest Arrival
Christine and Patrick Balster, the parents of Marguerite’s 100th great-grandchild, welcomed their baby shortly after another great-grandchild was born. Christine, who fondly refers to Marguerite as “grandmom,” shares a special connection with her. The newest addition, Koller William, arrived on August 4, 2022, weighing over nine pounds. His birth brought great joy to Marguerite and her family. Koller William has an older brother, Griffin David, named in honor of Christine’s late brother, with the reasons behind the name Griffin remaining private but deeply meaningful.
A Name with Special Significance
Patrick Balster explained that they chose the name Koller William to honor both Marguerite’s late husband and their family name. They kept the name a secret until after his birth, and when it was revealed, it was met with overwhelming love and support from the family. Christine shared her excitement and pride with Good Morning America, highlighting how special it was that Koller William was the 100th great-grandchild.
A Family Filled with Love
The birth of the 100th great-grandchild and his cousin has brought immense joy to the Koller family. As they prepare to celebrate Marguerite’s 100th birthday in November, the family, now over 170 strong, is eager to enjoy these cherished moments together. Marguerite’s vitality and active lifestyle are a reflection of her strong family ties and deep religious faith.
