Unidentified Individuals Leave ‘Displeasing’ Note On The Table During Family Dinner

In October 2015, a story made headlines about Katie Leach, who was dining with her family when they encountered an unpleasant situation involving her 10-month-old son.

Katie Leach, a resident of Nampa, Idaho, was at a Texas Roadhouse when her young son, Drew, started making loud noises. Leach shared on Facebook that Drew’s recent behavior included frequent yelling, which occurred when he was excited, unhappy, or sometimes without any apparent reason. She mentioned her efforts to teach him to use a quieter voice, but acknowledged that, being so young, Drew was still learning.

Leach described how, during their meal, Drew’s yelling happened intermittently. He was enthusiastic about the restaurant’s lively atmosphere, including the birthday songs and interactions with waitstaff. Despite their attempts to calm him, his excitement continued.

About halfway through their meal, Leach and her family received a note from two older diners seated behind them. The note criticized Leach’s son for disrupting their dinner with his loud noises.

Leach approached the diners to explain that her son was just a baby and still learning appropriate behavior. The diners, who claimed to have well-behaved grandchildren, responded dismissively. Leach noted that she might have understood their frustration if Drew were older and more aware of his actions.

The restaurant manager apologized for the situation, reassured Leach that her family was welcome, and offered to cover their meal. He also informed the rude diners that they could finish their meal but needed to do so quietly.

Travis Doster, a spokesperson for Texas Roadhouse, commented on the incident by highlighting the restaurant’s reputation for being lively and accommodating to all guests, acknowledging that their environment might not suit everyone.
