Let’s Celebrate Geo, The Heroic Dog Who Detected Danger And Rescued Someone
No friend is as loyal and loving as a dog.
Byron, a 25-year-old from Gloucester, England, attributes his life to the unwavering companionship of his dog, Geo. After enduring a painful breakup, Byron fell into a deep depression and began drinking heavily. One day, consumed by hopelessness, he prepared to end his life with a noose and wrote a farewell letter to his family.
Geo, a six-year-old Welsh bullmastiff, sensed that something was terribly wrong. While Byron was downstairs, Geo took hold of the noose and resisted letting it go, even growling to keep Byron from retrieving it. By the time Geo released the rope, it was in shreds.
Byron believes that Geo’s intuitive actions saved him from making a tragic decision. This moment of intervention led Byron to seek professional help and begin working on his mental health.
Years later, Geo was diagnosed with a severe tumor and was given only a few days to live. Byron devoted himself to making Geo’s remaining time as joyful as possible. Although Geo has passed, Byron remains profoundly grateful for the precious gift of life that his faithful friend gave him.
